Cheap and Easy access to “Pitch & Put” around Sitges

March 21st, 2008

There are several good and very cheap Pitch & Put courses around Sitges. All easily reachable by car within 15 to 35 minutes. Great for the scenery and for improving your short game or just having a 2.5 hour very pleasant and picturesque walk!
Typical cost mid-week is around €10,50 to €14,00 green fees per person and hire of clubs is a standard 2,50 per person, if needed. A trolley (makes life somewhat easier but not essential) is a further €2,50.

The weekends tend to be busier and also littered with local competions, so possibly best avoided.

At some of the courses it is easy to combine a good reasonably priced 3 course lunch, around €10 per head, with the golf.

Staff at the courses are generally very welcoming and sympathetic to newcomers. There are some good professionals, driving ranges and putting practice greens. A bag of range balls is only €1!

Jon & Eddie at the Liberty can give further information or the local tourist office in Sitges can also help.

Sitges International Car Rally 2009 (08 March)

March 12th, 2008

Sitges Rally

The Sitges International Car Rally takes place at the end of March.  As this is the 50th Anniversary of the event, we are expecting bumper crowds in Sitges for the entire weekend.

For further information visit the official site of the Stiges Car Rally Festival.

Recent Renovations

February 12th, 2008

This year ALL rooms on the garden side have a usable stainless steel and wooden decked  balcony (installed March 2008) so that guests can look out over the garden while sipping a coffee or a cocktail. All rooms have just had flat screen LCD TVs installed.

All rooms have received their annual Spring clean and redecoration. We took the opportunity to update some of the light fittings in the rooms and also all shower-room ceilings.  And the pipework that feeds the showers – some idiot in the 1960’s put steel piping throughout the building and over time and being embedded in concrete this had rotted and over the “closed” season we had to renew these and repair some leak damage.

We received a clean bill of health from the local authority for our water supply – they carry out independent testing of ALL hotel rooms and office and public bathrooms and kitchens twice a year for  infection/contamination, especially legionella.  The infection is rare and we have, as I would expect, passed with flying colours each time but it is good to know that the local authority provides this check-up for owners and guests alike.

Also the certificates for our fire extinguishers have been renewed for 2008 (all in functional order)  and that for the fire sprinkler system, making us one of the best equipped hotels in Sitges!  I am afraid some of our rivals don’t have some of these systems and safeguards.
